I decided to create a second blog to log my running/workouts and my other blog just didn't seem like the place - not like people really read the other much anyway, but I figured that talking about mileage, pace, "feelings" while running, fueling issues and all the other running stuff would absolutely bore people to tears. Heck, it bores me to tears sometimes...but I really wanted to start logging my training so that I can improve.
It's not like I'll be winning races anytime soon (or ever, really) as I'm not very fast and I'm certainly not the most talented athlete out there. It's kind of a small miracle that I started running in the first place because I'm not athletic and I hated running with the fiery passion of a thousand layers of hell growing up. My main goal is to finish a half in under 2 hours and a full in 4.5 hours.
I'm also recovering from an Achilles tendon/calf injury at the moment, so I probably won't be blogging too much about running just yet. I am starting to work out again and will probably start running in the next few weeks. I figure if nothing else, maybe this blog will help keep me accountable not only mileage wise, but also in stretching, strength training and avoiding injury.
I probably won't be running another race until next fall, but I plan on working on my strength and speed during that time. I'll most likely be sticking to a half (it's the perfect distance - long/hard enough to seriously train for, short enough to not want to die on the course) but who knows?
I guess that's all for now...happy Monday!
